What is Superscribe?
Superscribe is an AI note taker. Press record and a live transcript appears on screen, synced across all your devices. When you're done, you get a summary, a tappable outline that links back into the audio, and an AI chat that cites the moment in the recording each answer came from. Use it for meetings, lectures, podcasts — anything worth remembering.
What devices does Superscribe run on?
Superscribe runs on iPhone and iPad (iOS 18 or later), and on the web in any modern browser.
How does live transcription work?
While you're recording, Superscribe transcribes you in real time — words appear on screen almost immediately after you say them. Everything stays synced across your devices, so you can start a recording on your phone and read along on your laptop, or come back to it later from anywhere.
Can Superscribe tell different speakers apart?
Yes. Superscribe groups each speaker's words by the sound characteristics of their voice, so different people end up in their own streams in the transcript. It also picks up on what's being said — names mentioned, roles introduced, who's leading the conversation — to take a best guess at who each speaker actually is. Anything it gets wrong is easy to fix — just long-press a name to edit it.
Does Superscribe work without an internet connection?
Yes. You can record offline — your audio is saved on the device and uploads automatically once you're back online, so recordings are never lost. Live transcription, summaries, and chat all require a network connection, so they pause until you reconnect.
Is there a free plan? What does Pro include?
Every account gets a few free minutes of transcription so you can try out a live recording or upload a clip of existing audio. Paid plans include 20 hours of transcribed audio per month. We're working to raise that ceiling — if you hit it, drop us a note at help@brightenlabs.app and we'll do our best to help you.
Can I import recordings I made in another app?
Yes. Any audio file on your device works — recordings from another app, voice memos, an MP3 you saved somewhere — Superscribe will transcribe and summarize it just like a recording you made in the app. You can also paste in a link to an audio file on the web and we'll pull it in for you.
Can I share or export my transcripts and summaries?
Yes. Transcripts and summaries can be copied or exported as text, so you can drop them into email, Notes, Docs, or any other app.
